The School Service Provision Research Collaborative (SSPRC) is dedicated to conducting high-quality, applied research to effect enduring improvements to universal and targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports in schools as well as the processes and procedures used in their implementation. The work of the SSPRC is grounded in a prevention, early intervention, and multi-tiered problem-solving approach to service delivery. SSPRC work is heavily influenced by implementation science, consultation, and Multi-tiered Systems of Educator Support (MTSES) principles. This work is driven by the understanding that improving factors influencing school service provision can impact the short- and long-term outcomes for students in school and beyond and may be even more impactful for historically underserved, marginalized groups.
The Mission of the SSPRC is to effect enduring improvements to universal and targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports in schools as well as the processes and procedures used in their implementation through the use of a systematic, scientific inquiry process consisting of varied research methodologies, data collection procedures, and analytic techniques. Underlying these activities is an appreciation for the unique and diverse insights, experiences, and contributions to service delivery practices of all school and community members, particularly those whose voices have been ignored or muted.
Located in the heart of the Inland Empire, the University of California, Riverside's School of Education houses numerous graduate programs including School Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education, and more. The SSPRC is housed under UCR's SOE. The SSPRC is affiliated with the School Psychology doctoral program, but works across disciplines to produce research aimed at improving service delivery.
The SSPRC seeks to promote healthy, desirable short- and long-term outcomes for students, families, communities, and educators by conducting and disseminating high-quality, collaborative, and applied research that informs and improves evidence-based service delivery practices in schools.
